Wow, I was shocked to read this comment on one of my videos:
Today, a customer had a major meltdown after I declined to give him a discount on an item that was already 75% off. Despite being a manager, he demanded to speak to the manager and when I called security, he refused to leave the store. I had to take a break to calm down.
Later, I saw him leaving the store with the item he wanted and to my surprise, the security person was walking with him and even shook his hand. This whole experience has made me consider leaving the service industry or even organizing a strike. It’s just not right to always prioritize the customer over the well-being of the employees.
I can’t stress this enough: It’s truly disheartening to see how employees are treated by customers who think they can get away with anything. It’s time to reconsider the outdated mantra that “The Customer is Always Right.”
