US secretary of state Antony Blinken warned against further attacks in the Middle East during a meeting with Australian foreign and defence ministers in Annapolis, Maryland. Blinken emphasized that additional attacks would only escalate conflict, instability, and insecurity for all parties involved, highlighting the unpredictable and uncontrollable nature of such actions.
Additionally, US defence secretary Lloyd Austin affirmed the Pentagon’s commitment to de-escalating tensions in the region while also standing prepared to defend both Israel and US forces in the area.
