Answering five questions with five responses.
1. My team was told to do less work
Management asking you to take fewer tickets could have valid reasons, like training or giving a coworker a chance to catch up. You could raise concerns if it causes problems for you, but otherwise follow their instructions.
2. Two of my employees hold their own “accountability” meetings
Having accountability meetings is a positive practice. If no issues arise from these meetings, it’s a good thing and you could suggest others on the team do the same.
3. Will my job chances go up if I color my gray hair?
While some bias against age might exist, you should do what makes you comfortable. It’s not a definitive factor for hiring or promotion.
4. My friend asks me to help them professionally but won’t return the favor
You’re not obligated to help someone who doesn’t reciprocate. It’s okay to disengage from helping them if it’s always one-sided.
5. Should companies check references for internal transfers?
It’s normal not to check references for internal transfers as they already know your work. Informal discussions between managers are more common in these situations.
