Established last month following city council approval, the Santa Monica Bitcoin Office is committed to enlightening the local community about Bitcoin’s transformative potential. Alongside promoting Bitcoin partnerships to bolster economic growth and job creation in Santa Monica, the office serves as a vital hub for industry education and collaboration.
Through strategic alliances and positioning Santa Monica as a beacon of Bitcoin innovation, the city aims to attract investment and ensure economic resilience in the digital era. The upcoming festival serves as an integral part of this initiative, providing residents and businesses with an opportunity to stay informed about the latest Bitcoin developments.

However, the city and its partners emphasize that any conversations during the event do not constitute financial advice. The Santa Monica Bitcoin Office advises participants to conduct their own research and seek advice from financial professionals before making investment decisions. Moreover, in June 2023, Santa Monica firefighters made history by becoming the first union to purchase and hold Bitcoin through a collaboration with the Proof of Workforce Foundation.
